A Journey of Faith, Resilience, and Purpose

Whew! Where do I even start? It feels like just yesterday when I was 15, assaulted, and shuffled from one family member to another before being placed in group homes and foster care. At 16, I became an emancipated minor, moved into my first place at 17, and started navigating life on my own. I thank God that I was introduced to the church at age 14—little did I know then how much I would need to lean on God the way I do now!

Life had its fair share of challenges. At 18, I became a mother, and my world became even more hectic. By 19, I was married, but by 21, I was on a different path. It wasn’t the best decision at the time, but with God’s grace & mercy, I persevered.

At 24, I had another child, and at that same age, I found myself in trouble with the law. While detained, I took time to reflect and made the decision that God and living a righteous life were far more important than anything else. My life’s trials were a result of my decisions, my upbringing, and my lack of consistent positive examples, but I eventually realized that I needed to take full accountability for my own actions. No one was coming to save me—I had to change my life myself. The only way through this was to develop a better relationship with God!

After three failed marriages, three children, two bankruptcies, a stroke at 32, the loss of my 25-year-old daughter, and countless other life-altering events, I decided to get serious about God, as he had shown me there is work for me to do! 

​

The Power of Transformation and Purpose

​

Yes, I’ve faced many struggles, but I’ve also had many accomplishments. I’m not where I want to be yet, but I’m far from where I was. I was broken—broken financially, emotionally, spiritually, and physically. Life felt like it was closing in on me. But in my darkest moments, I turned to God, made a commitment to walk in His purpose for my life, and promised to minister to others.

​

I believe there is no way I could have survived all my trials without knowing that I was meant to use them for God’s glory. Now, I share my story as a living testament of His grace. I’m still here, still alive, still fighting, and still have time to make a difference in the world!

​

Living a Life of Service and Impact

​

My journey has led me to many roles and experiences. I've been a Director of Performing Arts at an at-risk youth charter high school, an Assistant Principal, a group home manager for teen moms, a case manager in the legal field, and even had the privilege of managing the legendary hip-hop artist and actor Earl "DMX" Simmons. I’ve written four musical stage plays, executive produced and directed a movie with my daughter, and spoken at and hosted countless events.

But nothing has been more fulfilling, more satisfying, or more important than my walk with God as an ordained minister. Living a righteous life and helping others become the best version of themselves through Christ is the greatest work I could ever do!
